Remove Fake and Guideline-Breaking AmbitionBox Company Reviews
Yes, an AmbitionBox review can be removed when it breaks the AmbitionBox Community Guidelines or the law; AmbitionBox decides each report, answers within 24 to 48 working hours, and leaves a genuine negative review up. We read every review on your company page, report the ones that qualify through AmbitionBox's own Report route with the evidence its moderators ask for, and tell you honestly which ones will stay.

Tell us your company name. A specialist checks every review on your AmbitionBox company page against the Community Guidelines and sends a private removal assessment.

Which AmbitionBox Reviews Qualify for Removal
AmbitionBox removes a company review only when it breaks the AmbitionBox Community Guidelines. A genuine review from a real employee stays, however unfair it reads, and so does a review that names a manager for their behaviour at work. These are the reviews we take on.
Fake reviews
The guidelines say content is removed when AmbitionBox establishes "with sufficient certainty" that it is fake, and that evidence supplied by the employer counts. A review from someone who never worked for you, from a competitor, or from a rejected candidate posing as staff is the clearest case.
Incentivised or coerced reviews
AmbitionBox removes an "influenced company review" where it believes the writer was paid, rewarded or pressured into posting it. That cuts both ways: a rival's paid wave against you is reportable, and so is a positive wave you bought.
Confidential company information
Reviews that reveal non-public internal information are removable under the guidelines, which list source code, customer lists, manufacturing techniques, research and development activities, budgets, detailed financial results and technical know-how.

Abuse, threats and discriminatory language
AmbitionBox does not approve reviews that contain profanity, threats of violence, racism or discriminatory language aimed at an individual or a group. Naming a manager and describing their behaviour at work is allowed, so the report has to point at the abusive line, not the name.
Duplicate and spam reviews
A contributor may post one review per current employer every six months and one review per former employer. Several near-identical reviews from the same person, or a burst of copy-paste reviews after a layoff, is what the guidelines call spamming.
Reviews with missing contributor details
Company reviews posted from 5 January 2022 onwards can be removed when the username, IP address or email ID behind them is missing. It is a technical ground, but it catches a share of the anonymous attack reviews we see.
How AmbitionBox Review Removal Works
Four stages, nothing promised before the assessment shows what is realistic, and you approve the quote before any work starts.
- 1
Assessment
You share your company name. A specialist reads every review on your AmbitionBox company page, maps each one against the Community Guidelines, and sends you a private assessment with honest odds per review.
- 2
Quote and approval
You get a fixed quote for the reviews that qualify. Nothing starts until you approve it, and every engagement is covered by an NDA.
- 3
Reports through AmbitionBox's own route
Each report goes in through the Report option on the review (from your claimed Employer Dashboard, under Review Management) or by email to AmbitionBox support with the proofs attached, citing the guideline clause and the evidence: proof the writer was never employed, documents that contradict a false claim, the duplicated text in a spam wave. AmbitionBox says its team responds within 24 to 48 working hours.
- 4
Legal route and employer brand
Where a review states something false as fact and the report route fails, our legal partners take it up with the writer. In parallel we help you respond to the genuine reviews and keep watching the page so new violations get reported quickly.
How AmbitionBox Company Reviews Work
AmbitionBox is one of India's most widely used employer review platforms, run by Info Edge (India) Ltd, the company behind Naukri.com. Current and former employees rate companies on work-life balance, salary, skill development, culture and more, and the overall rating is a simple average of every published review. Indian candidates read that rating before they apply, which is why one false review on AmbitionBox costs more hires than most other negative content.
Every review passes through up to three levels of moderation: automated filters for abuse, gibberish and spam, a team of human moderators for anything the filters cannot decide, and a second human check for any review that users report. When a review is reported, AmbitionBox moderates it again and, by its own account, verifies the writer's employment details through Naukri and other social networks. If it still meets the Community Guidelines, it stays. AmbitionBox is explicit that an employer cannot remove a review, that it sells no paid removal service, that it never discloses a reviewer's identity to the employer, and that a company page cannot be taken down. Everything that follows works within those rules.
How to Report a Review on AmbitionBox
Every employer has the same route inside AmbitionBox:
- Claim your company page. AmbitionBox verifies you with a one-time password sent to an official company email address and some manual due diligence, then opens the Employer Dashboard at employer.ambitionbox.com.
- In the dashboard, open Review Management (under Engage Your Employees), find the review, click Report under it, pick the reason from the list and submit. Any logged-in user can also use the Report button shown with every review on the public site.
- For a case that needs documents, email support@ambitionbox.com with the review link, the reason and the proofs. The guidelines name this route alongside the Report button.
- Wait for the answer. AmbitionBox's help article says its team gets back within 24 to 48 working hours; the status of reported content arrives by email to the address registered with AmbitionBox.
The honest part: a report that only says "this is unfair" is declined. The guidelines ask the reporter to be fair and to report a review only when they genuinely believe it breaks the rules, and the moderators look for a specific breach backed by evidence. That gap between an employer reporting a review in frustration and a prepared report is where our work sits.
What AmbitionBox Will Not Remove
Three things surprise employers most. First, a negative review from a real employee is protected opinion, and AmbitionBox says it does not take sides in factual disputes. Second, a review may name any individual in the company, including the managing director, as long as it describes that person's behaviour or performance at work. Third, discussion of workplace misconduct is allowed, including most discussion of illegal activity, discrimination and sexual harassment. A report built on "this names our HR head" or "this accuses us of harassment" fails on its own; the same review can still come down if the writer never worked for you, if it reveals confidential information, or if it contains threats or abuse.
The Legal Route for Defamatory AmbitionBox Reviews
A review that makes a false statement of fact about your company or a named person is defamation, not feedback. AmbitionBox says it complies with lawful orders from law enforcement agencies, and it does not otherwise identify reviewers. Where a report is declined and the damage is real, the route runs through the writer: a letter from our legal partners, identification of an anonymous reviewer where the law allows it, and in the strongest cases a court finding that the statement is false, which can then be presented to AmbitionBox. It is slower and costlier than the report route, so we recommend it only when the assessment shows a clear false statement and a measurable harm.
The Employer Brand Side
Removal clears the reviews that should never have been there. It does not make your page attractive. Three things do:
- Respond to the genuine reviews, including the critical ones, with a short, specific, non-defensive reply. AmbitionBox's own employer guidelines rule out naming the person you think wrote an anonymous review and threatening legal action in a reply, and candidates read replies as closely as reviews.
- Invite current and former employees to review you in their own words. AmbitionBox allows the invitation and removes reviews the moment it finds evidence of payment or coercion, so never pay, never script, never ask only the happy ones.
- Keep the page current: an accurate description, benefits, photos and a response on every recent review. A stale page with five old reviews is easier to damage than a living one.
Candidates rarely check only one site. The same employee who reviews you on AmbitionBox often posts the same text on Glassdoor and Indeed, so we check all three and handle them together. See how we approach Glassdoor review removal and Indeed review removal, read a Glassdoor cleanup case study for the shape of a typical employer review engagement, or browse all reputation case studies. All three pages are part of our wider negative review removal service. For the step-by-step background, read our guide to managing and reporting AmbitionBox reviews. Where a layoff or a public dispute has started a wave of reviews across several platforms at once, our crisis management team runs the response as one piece of work.
