Remove Fake and Defamatory Indeed Company Reviews

Indeed review removal is the work of getting fake, defamatory and guideline-breaking company reviews taken off your Indeed Company Page through Indeed's own reporting process. Candidates read those reviews before they apply, and one false review from a competitor or a fired employee can cost you hires for years. We assess every review, report the ones that qualify, and tell you honestly which ones will stay.

Which Indeed Reviews Qualify for Removal

Indeed only removes a company review when it breaks Indeed's review guidelines. Genuine criticism from a real employee stays, however unfair it feels. These are the reviews we take on.

Not written by an employee

Indeed company reviews must come from a current or former employee describing their own employment. A review from a customer, a rejected applicant, a competitor or a relative of a staff member does not qualify as a company review.

False statements of fact

A review that states something untrue as fact (unpaid wages that were paid, a lawsuit that never happened, a safety violation that never occurred) is defamatory, not opinion, and can be reported with evidence.

Naming and attacking a manager

Indeed's guidelines do not allow personal attacks on named individuals or the exposure of private details. A review that targets your HR head or a line manager by name is reportable.

Confidential or proprietary information

Reviews that publish salary bands of named colleagues, client names, internal documents or trade secrets breach the guidelines and can be reported for that reason alone.

Spam, paid or coordinated reviews

Several near-identical reviews posted in a short window, often after a layoff or a public dispute, show the pattern Indeed treats as spam or coordinated review bombing.

Duplicate and off-topic reviews

The same person posting the same complaint twice, or a review about a different company with a similar name, falls outside the guidelines and is usually straightforward to report.

How Indeed Review Removal Works

Four stages, nothing promised before the assessment shows what is realistic, and you approve the quote before any work starts.

1

Assessment

You share your company name. A specialist reads every review on your Indeed Company Page, maps each one against Indeed's review guidelines, and sends you a private assessment with honest odds per review.

2

Quote and approval

You get a fixed quote for the reviews that qualify. Nothing starts until you approve it, and every engagement is covered by an NDA.

3

Reports and the legal route

We prepare each report with the evidence Indeed's moderation team needs: proof the reviewer was never employed, documents that contradict a false claim, the guideline clause being breached. Where a review is defamatory and the report route fails, our legal partners take it up with the reviewer.

4

Monitoring and employer brand

After the removals we keep watching your page, flag new violations quickly, and help you respond to the genuine reviews so the page reads as a company that listens.

How Indeed Company Reviews Work

Indeed company reviews are employer reviews written by current and former employees. They sit on your Indeed Company Page next to your job listings, so a candidate who finds your vacancy on Indeed sees your star rating and the most recent reviews before they tap Apply. That is what makes a false Indeed review more expensive than most other negative content: it reaches people at the exact moment they decide whether to work for you.

Indeed's review guidelines ask for a genuine employment experience, written by the person who had it. The guidelines rule out personal attacks that name or identify individuals, confidential information, spam, paid or incentivized reviews, and content that is off topic or about another company. Indeed moderates reviews before and after publication, and it decides what comes down. Neither we nor anyone else can delete a review directly.

What the Employer Can Do on Indeed

Every employer has a route inside Indeed:

  • Claim your Company Page through an Indeed employer account so you can respond to reviews publicly and manage the page.
  • Report a review from the page. Each review has a report option; you pick the reason and add context.
  • Wait for Indeed's moderation team. They check the review against the guidelines and either remove it or leave it up. You are not always told why.

The honest part: most reports filed against genuine reviews are declined. Indeed treats a negative but genuine review as protected opinion, and "we disagree with this" is not a guideline breach. Reports succeed when they point at a specific rule and carry evidence. That is the difference between an employer reporting a review in frustration and a prepared report, and it is where our work sits.

The Legal Route for Defamatory Indeed Reviews

A review that makes a false statement of fact about your company or a named person is defamation, not feedback. The platform is generally not the party liable for what a user writes; the reviewer is. Where a report is declined and the damage is real, the route runs through the reviewer: a letter from our legal partners, identification of an anonymous reviewer where the law allows it, and in the strongest cases a court finding that the statement is false, which can then be presented to Indeed. We coordinate this with our legal partners where a case needs it. It is slower and costlier than the report route, so we recommend it only when the assessment shows a clear false statement and a measurable harm.

The Employer Brand Side

Removal clears the reviews that should never have been there. It does not make your page attractive. Three things do:

  • Respond to the genuine reviews, including the critical ones, with a short, specific, non-defensive reply. Candidates read the replies as closely as the reviews.
  • Encourage current employees to leave a review in their own words. Never pay for reviews, never script them, never ask only the happy ones; Indeed and candidates both spot it.
  • Keep the page current: an accurate description, active job listings, photos and benefits. A stale page with three old reviews is easier to damage than a living one.

Candidates rarely check only one site. The same employee who reviews you on Indeed often posts the same text on Glassdoor, so we check both and handle them together. See how we approach Glassdoor review removal and read a Glassdoor cleanup case study for the shape of a typical employer review engagement. Both pages are part of our wider negative review removal service. Where a layoff or a public dispute has started a wave of reviews across several platforms at once, our crisis management team runs the response as one piece of work.

Why Work With Us

We are an independent reputation management firm, established 2017, headquartered in Delhi and working with clients in 20+ countries. We take on Indeed cases only where a review breaks the guidelines or the law, we give you honest odds for each review before you spend anything, and the assessment itself carries no payment. If the honest answer is that a review will stay, we say so and show you what the employer brand route can do instead.

Indeed Review Removal Questions

Can you guarantee an Indeed review will be removed?
No, and nobody honest can. Indeed's moderation team decides what comes down, and it only removes reviews that break its guidelines. What we guarantee is a straight assessment: you see which reviews qualify and the odds for each before you approve a quote, and we take on only the cases that have a real route.
Does Indeed remove negative reviews if the employer asks?
No. A negative review from a genuine employee is treated as protected opinion, and Indeed declines most reports that amount to "we disagree". Indeed removes a review when it breaks a guideline: the reviewer was never an employee, the review states something false as fact, it names and attacks an individual, it exposes confidential information, or it is spam or part of a coordinated wave.
How do I report a review on Indeed myself?
Claim your Company Page through an Indeed employer account, open the review, choose the report option and state the reason. Indeed's moderation team checks it against the guidelines. Reports that cite a specific guideline and carry evidence do far better than reports that simply object to the content, which is why we prepare each one as a case.
Can a fired employee's review be removed?
Not because they were fired. A former employee is entitled to describe their experience. The review can be reported if it crosses a line: a false statement of fact, a personal attack on a named manager, confidential information, or threats. We check each review for those grounds rather than for how angry it sounds.
We had a layoff and dozens of reviews appeared in a week. What can be done?
A sudden wave of near-identical reviews is the pattern Indeed's guidelines treat as coordinated or spam, and it is reportable as a pattern as well as review by review. We document the timing and the duplicated language, report the set, and at the same time help you respond publicly so candidates see the company's side of the story.
Can we find out who wrote an anonymous Indeed review?
Indeed does not reveal reviewer identities to employers. Where a review is clearly defamatory and causing measurable harm, our legal partners can pursue the reviewer's identity through the courts in jurisdictions that allow it. That is a legal route, not a reporting one, and we recommend it only where the assessment supports it.
Do you also handle the same review on Glassdoor?
Yes. Employees who review a company on Indeed often post the same text on Glassdoor, and candidates compare both. We assess the two pages together and run one engagement across both, which is cheaper and faster than treating them separately.
What does the assessment cost?
Nothing. You share your company name, a specialist reads every review on your Indeed page against the guidelines, and you receive a private assessment with a quote for the reviews that qualify. Work starts only when you approve the quote, and the whole engagement is covered by an NDA.

Stop losing candidates to reviews that break Indeed's rules.

One private assessment tells you which Indeed reviews can be reported, which need the legal route, and what the rest of your page says to candidates. Honest odds, NDA, no obligation.
