Generative Engine Optimization
Generative engine optimization is how you become the answer instead of a footnote. When a buyer asks an AI assistant for the best agency, the safest clinic or the right vendor, the assistant names two or three options and most buyers never look further. GEO is the discipline of earning one of those mentions: making your brand the easiest, safest, most corroborated recommendation an engine can give.

Tell us your market and your money queries. A specialist measures who the assistants currently recommend, where you stand, and what would move you into the answer.

What Is Generative Engine Optimization?
SEO earned you a position on a page of links. GEO earns you a place inside the answer itself. When someone asks ChatGPT, Gemini or Perplexity "best online reputation firm for healthcare" or "which logistics partner should I use in Delhi", the engine synthesises a shortlist from the sources it trusts, and brands outside that shortlist simply do not exist for that buyer. No page two, no position eight, no impression at all.
Generative engine optimization is the work of getting onto that shortlist and staying there. It is not a trick, and anyone selling you a secret prompt or a guaranteed placement is selling exactly that. Engines recommend what they can retrieve, verify and corroborate: brands whose facts are machine-readable, whose expertise is published where engines look, and whose name shows up consistently in the third-party sources those engines cite. GEO builds each of those, measurably.
Defence First, Then Offence
One honest caveat before the growth story: getting recommended more often means more people check your name next. If the answer to "is this brand legit" is broken, GEO amplifies the damage. That is why we treat our AI search reputation management work as the foundation, and usually confirm the trust answers are clean, via an AI reputation audit, before pushing for recommendation share.
How An Engine Picks Its Recommendations
When a buyer asks for the best option, the engine is not ranking a page of links. It is looking for names it can retrieve, verify and corroborate across independent sources. Those are the levers GEO works.
Two or three names, with reasons. The shortlist is the whole market now. GEO is the work of being on it, with the reasons being yours.
The highlighted levers move recommendation share fastest in our engagements: pages engines can quote directly, and third-party mentions they treat as independent proof.
GEO Is Not SEO With A New Name
The two disciplines share foundations, and your SEO keeps mattering because engines search before they answer. But the finish line moved.
SEO optimises for
- A ranked position among ten links
- Clicks to your website as the win
- Keywords buyers type into a box
- Your pages as the unit of competition
GEO optimises for
- Being named inside the generated answer
- Citations and recommendations as the win
- Questions buyers ask in full sentences
- Your entity, everywhere, as the unit of competition
The overlap is real: engines search before they answer, so rankings feed recommendations. The difference is that GEO wins are measured in answers, not positions.
Before any work starts, we run your money queries across the engines and record who gets recommended, how often, and why. Progress is reported the same way: your share of the answers, per engine, per quarter, next to the sources that earned each mention. If a vendor cannot show you this number, they are not doing GEO.
The Six GEO Workstreams
Everything an engine needs to name you with confidence, built in the order that compounds.
Answer-Ready Content
Pages that answer the questions buyers ask, in the first paragraph, in plain language an engine can quote: who you serve, what you cost, how you compare, what you are best at. Expertise published, not implied.
Entity Foundations
One consistent identity across your site, registries, directories, Wikidata and social profiles, with Organization, LocalBusiness or Person schema wired in, so engines know exactly who is being recommended.
Crawler And llms.txt Readiness
AI crawlers allowed where you want them, an llms.txt that hands engines your key facts, and site structure that keeps your best evidence one hop from the homepage.
Third-Party Presence
Engines corroborate before they recommend. We build your legitimate footprint in the places they check: review platforms, industry roundups, comparison pages, directories and the forums where your market talks.
Search Foundations
Engines run searches before they write, so the rankings that feed them still matter. Classic SEO on your money queries, aimed at the retrieval step of the answer rather than the click.
Measurement And Iteration
AI share of voice tracked per engine per quarter through our monitoring cycle, with each gained or lost mention traced to the source that caused it, so the next quarter's work is aimed, not guessed.
How A GEO Engagement Runs
Six stages. The first two tell you honestly whether GEO is worth your money yet.
Baseline the answers
Your money queries run across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot and Google's AI surfaces, recording who gets recommended today, how often, and which sources each engine cites for it.
Clear the trust gate
The "is it legit" answers are checked before anything is amplified. If they are broken, the reputation work comes first; GEO on a damaged name amplifies the damage.
Fix the entity layer
Consistent identity, corrected records, structured data and llms.txt, so every future mention accrues to one unambiguous you.
Publish answer-ready proof
The content buyers' questions deserve: comparisons, pricing clarity, case evidence, expertise pages, each written to be quotable by an engine and useful to a human.
Earn corroboration
Legitimate presence in the third-party sources engines cite for your market. No fake reviews, no astroturf; engines are getting better at spotting both, and the penalty is the shortlist.
Measure and iterate
Quarterly AI share of voice per engine, mention by mention, source by source, feeding the next quarter's priorities through the monitoring cycle.
Find out who the AI recommends instead of you
The baseline review takes one conversation to start, and it shows you the current shortlist for your money queries, the sources behind it, and what would realistically move you into the answer.
Who GEO Is For
Anyone whose buyers ask an assistant for a shortlist before they ever search.
Service businesses
Agencies, clinics, firms and consultancies, where "who is the best X near me" now gets answered in a paragraph and the shortlist is the market.
Challenger brands
You will not out-spend the incumbent, but engines reward clarity and corroboration over size. GEO is the rare channel where the underdog's homework wins.
B2B vendors
Procurement teams ask assistants for candidate lists before any RFP. Being in that generated list is the new prequalification.
