Which Complaints Qualify for Removal?

We act on complaints that are false, fake or break the rules of the site that hosts them. A genuine complaint from an unhappy customer is not a removal case, and we will tell you so at the assessment.

False or fabricated complaints

Posts that describe a transaction that never happened, name the wrong company, or invent facts about your product, staff or pricing. These are reported on the facts and, where the platform asks for it, with proof from your own records.

Competitor and extortion posts

Complaints written by a rival, a former employee with a grudge, or someone who demands payment to take the post down. Extortion attempts breach almost every platform's rules and can also support a legal complaint.

Personal data and defamation

Complaints that publish a director's home address, phone number or private documents, or that make defamatory statements of fact about a named individual, open the GDPR and defamation routes alongside the platform report.

Breaches of the site's own rules

Duplicate posts, posts by people with no verified experience, hate speech, threats and off-topic rants all breach the hosting site's terms. The report is built on the specific rule, not on how unfair the complaint feels.

How the Complaints Removal Engagement Works

Four stages, with your approval before any work starts. Nothing is promised before the assessment shows what is realistic.

1

Assessment

Send us the links. A specialist reads every complaint, checks it against the hosting site's rules and the legal routes open to you, and records which ones qualify for removal, which qualify for de-indexing, and which we would suppress.

2

Quote and approval

You receive a private report with honest odds per complaint and a quote for the work. Nothing starts until you approve it, and the assessment itself carries no obligation.

3

Removal work

We file the platform reports with evidence, draft the response to any complaint that should stay, send legal notices and Google de-indexing requests with our legal partners where a case needs it, and start suppression on anything that cannot come down.

4

Monitoring

Complaint sites are watched after the work so a repeat post or a copy on a mirror site is reported quickly instead of ranking for months.

Where Online Complaints Live, and Why Each Site Is Different

Complaints removal is not one process. A complaint about your business can sit on a review platform with a published policy and a reporting route, on a consumer complaint board that rarely removes anything, in a forum thread, in a Facebook group or on a Reddit community. Each has its own rules, and the route that works on one is useless on the next. Our negative review removal hub covers the review platforms; this page covers the complaint sites, boards and communities that sit alongside them.

Platforms with a policy and a report route

Trustpilot, Reviews.io and Sitejabber all publish content guidelines and let a business flag a review that breaks them. Trustpilot, which carries most of the UK complaints we see, asks a reviewer to document their experience when a flag is raised and removes reviews that cannot be substantiated or that breach its guidelines. The report has to cite the right rule with evidence; a flag that simply says the review is unfair is closed without action. Our Trustpilot review removal page covers that platform in depth.

Complaint boards that keep posts up

ComplaintsBoard and PissedConsumer have terms of use and will act on content that breaches them, such as posts that reveal personal data, duplicate posts, or posts shown to be fraudulent, but their default position favours the complainant, and both lean on the business to respond publicly rather than to have the post taken down. Ripoff Report is the hardest case: it states openly that it does not remove reports, even at the author's request. It offers paid programmes instead, a corporate advocacy programme and an arbitration programme, under which an independent arbitrator can order false statements of fact to be redacted. We do not delete reports from Ripoff Report and we will not tell you otherwise. Where a report is defamatory, the realistic routes are a court order with a de-indexing request to Google, or suppression.

Forums, Facebook groups and Reddit

Forum threads and community posts are moderated by volunteers under community rules, and the moderators, not the platform, decide most cases. Facebook groups follow Meta's community standards plus the group's own rules. Reddit has site-wide rules against harassment, doxxing and impersonation, with each subreddit adding its own. Our guide to removing consumer complaints on forums explains the approach, and the Reddit post removal page covers that platform.

The Legal Routes

When a complaint is unlawful rather than merely unfair, three routes sit beside the platform report. We work them with our legal partners where a case needs it; nothing on this page is legal advice.

  • Defamation. A complaint that states false facts about you and damages your reputation may be actionable against the author. In England and Wales the Defamation Act 2013 requires a claimant to show serious harm, and a company trading for profit must show serious financial loss, so the bar is real. A letter before claim, or a court order where one is obtained, is often enough for a platform to act, and Google accepts court orders through its legal removal process to de-index the page.
  • Personal data. Under the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR, an individual can ask a site, and separately Google, to erase personal data that is inaccurate, excessive or no longer necessary. This applies to people, not companies, so it helps a named director, owner or employee rather than the business itself. Google also removes certain personal information from Search under its own policy, such as home addresses, ID numbers and bank details.
  • Platform legal requests. Most complaint sites, and Google, have a legal request route separate from the ordinary flag. Used correctly, with a specific statement of what is unlawful and why, it reaches a different team with different criteria.

When a Complaint Cannot Come Down: Suppression

Some complaints will stay up: the Ripoff Report that is not defamatory, the forum thread the moderators consider fair comment, the complaint that is simply true. In those cases we work on where it ranks rather than whether it exists. Suppression means building and promoting accurate, strong content about your business so the complaint drops below the results people actually read. Our negative search result removal page explains the method in full.

Responding to the Genuine Ones

A real complaint from a real customer is not a removal case, and attempting to remove it usually makes things worse: the platform refuses, the customer notices, and a second post appears. We draft the public response instead, factual and calm, and help you resolve the issue offline where possible. On most platforms a complaint that was visibly resolved reads better to the next buyer than no complaint at all.

What We Do Not Do

We do not guarantee a removal; the platform or the court decides. We do not post fake positive reviews to drown a complaint, and we do not pay complaint sites for removal on your behalf. Every engagement starts with a private assessment, you approve the quote before any work begins, and the engagement is covered by an NDA.

Why Choose Online Reputation Manage for Complaints Removal?

  • Rule-Based Reports

Every report cites the specific platform rule or legal ground it relies on, with evidence attached, because that is what gets a complaint removed.

  • Honest Assessment First

You learn which complaints qualify, which do not, and the realistic odds for each before you pay for anything.

  • Legal Partners Where Needed

Defamation letters, court orders and GDPR erasure requests are handled with our legal partners when a case calls for them.

  • Confidential by Default

Every enquiry is confidential and every engagement is covered by an NDA, so the removal effort never becomes its own story.

  • Removal, De-Indexing or Suppression

Three outcomes, applied per complaint, so the ones that cannot come down still stop costing you customers.

  • Genuine Complaints Handled Properly

We draft the public response and help you resolve the issue, instead of attempting removals that would fail.

  • Monitoring After the Work

Complaint sites and mirror copies are watched so a repeat post is reported early.

  • Established 2017, 20+ Countries

An independent reputation management firm, established 2017, headquartered in Delhi and working with clients in 20+ countries.

Complaints Removal Questions

Can you guarantee that a complaint will be removed?
No, and no honest firm can. The platform, the moderator or the court decides. What we do is assess each complaint against the rules that apply to it, give you realistic odds before you commit, and take on the cases that qualify. You approve the quote before any work starts.
Can you remove a Ripoff Report?
Not by deletion. Ripoff Report states that it does not remove reports, and we do not claim otherwise. It runs paid programmes, including an arbitration programme under which false statements of fact can be redacted. Where a report is defamatory, the realistic routes are a court order, a de-indexing request to Google and suppression, so the report stops appearing for searches on your name.
How do you get a complaint removed from Trustpilot?
By flagging it under the specific Trustpilot guideline it breaches, with evidence. Trustpilot asks the reviewer to document their experience and removes reviews that cannot be substantiated or that break its rules. A flag that only says the review is unfair is closed without action.
What if the complaint is true?
Then it is not a removal case, and we will say so. We draft a factual public response, help you resolve the issue with the customer where possible, and, if the complaint still ranks for your name, work on suppression rather than removal.
Can I use defamation law against an online complaint in the UK?
Sometimes. Under the Defamation Act 2013 the statement must be a false statement of fact that has caused or is likely to cause serious harm, and a company must show serious financial loss. Honest opinion is a defence. Where the bar is met, a letter or a court order is often what moves a platform or Google. We work these cases with our legal partners.
Does GDPR help a business remove a complaint?
The right to erasure applies to personal data about individuals, not to opinions about a company. It helps when a complaint publishes a named person's private details, and it can be used by a director or employee named in a post. It does not remove a complaint about a business as such.
Can you remove a complaint from Google without removing it from the site?
In some cases. Google de-indexes pages on the basis of a court order, under its personal information policy, and when a site has itself tagged the page to be excluded from search. Where none of those applies, suppression pushes the result below the page people read.
How much does complaints removal cost?
Each case is quoted after the assessment, based on the number of complaints, the sites involved and the routes that apply. The assessment itself carries no payment and no obligation.
