Remove Fake and Defamatory Yelp Reviews
Yelp review removal is the work of getting fake, conflicted and defamatory reviews taken off your Yelp business page through Yelp's own reporting process, and suppressing the damage from reviews that will not come down. Yelp does not remove reviews for payment and nobody can buy a removal. We assess every review against Yelp's content guidelines, report the ones that qualify, and give you honest odds on each.

Tell us your business name and city. A specialist checks every review on your Yelp page against Yelp's content guidelines and sends a private removal assessment.

Which Yelp Reviews Qualify for Removal
Yelp removes a review when it breaks Yelp's content guidelines, not when a business dislikes it. A genuine first-hand experience stays, even a one-star one. These are the reviews with a real route.
Not a first-hand experience
Yelp reviews must describe the reviewer's own consumer experience. A review about what happened to a friend, a review of a business the person never visited, or secondhand hearsay falls outside the guidelines.
Conflict of interest
Reviews written by a competitor, a former employee, a current employee of a rival, or someone in a personal dispute with the owner breach Yelp's conflict-of-interest rule and can be reported with the evidence of the connection.
False statements of fact
Claims that are untrue and checkable (food poisoning that was never reported, a license you do hold, a charge that was refunded) are defamatory rather than opinion and give both a report route and a legal route.

Personal attacks and hate
Reviews that attack an owner or staff member personally, use slurs, threaten, or target someone for who they are rather than what they did are reportable under Yelp's harassment and hate rules.
Privacy breaches
A review that publishes a staff member's full name alongside private details, a license plate, a home address or a photo of someone who did not consent breaks Yelp's privacy rules.
Promotional or off-topic content
Reviews that promote another business, carry a link or a coupon, or are about a different location or a different company with the same name are outside the guidelines and usually straightforward to report.
How Yelp Review Removal Works
Four stages, nothing promised before the assessment shows what is realistic, and you approve the quote before any work starts.
Assessment
You share your business name and city. A specialist reads every recommended and "not currently recommended" review on your Yelp page, maps each against the content guidelines, and sends a private assessment with honest odds per review.
Quote and approval
You receive a fixed quote covering the reviews that qualify and, where it makes sense, the suppression work for the ones that will stay. Nothing starts until you approve it, and every engagement is covered by an NDA.
Reports and the legal route
We prepare each report with the evidence Yelp's moderators need: the guideline breached, the proof of a conflict of interest, the documents that contradict a false claim. Defamatory reviews that survive the report route go to our legal partners, who deal with the reviewer, not Yelp.
Suppression, response and monitoring
For reviews that stay, we work the response, the rest of your Yelp page and the search results around your business name so the review stops defining you, then keep monitoring for new violations.
How Yelp Decides Which Reviews You See
Yelp reviews are filtered before you ever report one. Yelp's recommendation software sorts every review into "recommended" and "not currently recommended". The second group is hidden behind a link at the bottom of the page, does not count toward the star rating, and is where Yelp parks reviews it cannot vouch for: new accounts with no history, reviews that look solicited, bursts of activity, and reviews it suspects are biased in either direction. The software is automated and Yelp does not let businesses or users move a review between the two groups.
That cuts both ways. A fake one-star review from a fresh account often ends up filtered on its own. A fair five-star review from a loyal customer with a thin profile can end up filtered too. Part of our assessment is simply reading what is already hidden and what is not, because a review that Yelp has already set aside rarely needs a report.
Yelp's Content Guidelines and the Report Route
Yelp's content guidelines ask that a review describe a genuine first-hand consumer experience, carry no conflict of interest, contain no personal attacks, harassment or hate speech, carry no promotional content, and breach nobody's privacy. Reviews that fall outside those lines can be reported.
The route for a business owner runs through Yelp for Business: claim your page, open the review, and report it with a reason and your explanation. Yelp's moderation team evaluates the report against the guidelines and either removes the review or leaves it up. They do not take the business's word for it, and they do not remove a review for being negative. Reports that name the guideline and attach evidence do better than reports that argue the review is unfair.
Two things Yelp is firm about, and you should know before you talk to anyone offering a shortcut:
- Yelp does not remove reviews for payment. Not from the business, not from an agency, not from anyone. Any service that promises to make a genuine review disappear for a fee is either lying or planning to break Yelp's rules in your name.
- Yelp penalizes businesses that solicit or buy reviews. Its Consumer Alerts program posts a public warning on the page of a business caught paying for reviews, asking customers for reviews in exchange for a reward, or buying reviews from a review farm. A Consumer Alert is far more damaging than the review you were trying to bury.
We only work Yelp cases inside those rules: reviews that break the guidelines, reported properly, and the rest handled through suppression and response. Yelp is used mainly in the United States and Canada, and most of our Yelp clients are restaurants, clinics, home services, legal practices and other local businesses there.
The Legal Route for Defamatory Yelp Reviews
In the United States, Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act means Yelp is generally not liable for what its users write. A defamation claim is against the reviewer, not the platform, and a court cannot usually order Yelp itself to remove content. What a court can do is find that a specific statement is false and defamatory, and that order can be presented to Yelp, which evaluates such orders and has removed content on that basis. Our legal partners handle this route where a case needs it: a demand letter, identification of an anonymous reviewer where the law allows it, and litigation only where the harm justifies the cost. It is the slow lane, and we say so.
Suppression and Response When a Review Stays
Most negative Yelp reviews are genuine, and genuine reviews stay. The work then shifts from removal to containment:
- Reply publicly, briefly and without arguing. A calm, specific owner response changes how the next reader weighs the review.
- Fix the rest of the page: accurate hours, photos, services and a steady flow of real reviews from real customers, asked for in ways Yelp permits.
- Work the search results. A Yelp page is often one of the first results for your business name, and a Google search for "[your business] reviews" pulls in other sites too. Our negative search results service pushes the review pages that hurt you below the results that help.
This Yelp work is part of our wider negative review removal service, which covers Google, Trustpilot, the BBB and other platforms your customers check. For a business with a reputation problem that has spread beyond one review, brand reputation management treats the whole picture.
